Photo-Illustration

This image is for our photo-illustration projects. We were suppose to create one image, out of two or more images, that showed a controversial subject. This image is made up of two images, the first is of my adopted grandmother, who lived through the pre-civil rights era and saw the ignorance and hatred directed at her race during that time. The second image, I had a friend pose with a noose, and I merged those photos together to show that the past events that my grandmother witnessed are happening now. This image shouldn't be taken out of context, I created it to show that the hatred and ignorance directed towards others hasn't changed as much as we believed it had and that it needs to change if we expect to live and grow together.
